Job Description

Safran Landing Systems is the world leader in aircraft landing and braking systems and is at the forefront of contributing to safer, more sustainable aviation for current and future generations.

Our Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) organisation partner with a range of global customers, working closely with major airlines such as British Airways, easyJet, Wizz Air, Iberia, Vueling, Air Canada, Etihad and Qatar.

What will I be doing?

Primarily working alongside the Facilities & Maintenance (F&M) team you will be investigating Plant & Equipment (P&E) technical issues adversely impacting manufacturing on site. You will conduct research, collect data, and work alongside the F&M and Project teams to design, build and test solutions to improve P&E availability and efficiencies.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Using problem solving techniques to prevent, detect and eliminate faults, abnormalities and inefficiencies

Proactive in the development and enhancement of kit and equipment performance and reliability using:

• SAFRAN Maintenance Maturity Grid - Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM)

• Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) - Using data to prioritise and optimise resources

• Failure Mode Effect Analysis's (FMEA)

• Root Cause Analysis (RCA)

• Siemens & Allen Bradley PLC knowledge

• Experience of computerised maintenance management systems

• Assist in the implementation of CMMS

• Providing specialist knowledge and insight for new and current technologies whilst developing the knowledge in colleagues and wider teams. E.g. WinCC to monitor and control processes

• Delivering high standards of asset care through the application of best practice, developed knowledge and technical expertise

• Driving continuous improvements to support sustainable operational performance

• Assist in the development and roll-out of the sites Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

• Management of site assets through effective use and interaction with the site CMMS, stores and administration functions to deliver Planned and Unplanned activities in a safe and timely manner. Working with F&M Supervisor and the Operational Teams

• Ensure the safe working practices of all staff, contractors and visitors in line with company policies, procedures and legislative requirements

• Actively participate in department and cross functional activity to deliver performance against set KPI targets to ensure all aspects of engineering are effective with clear actions and focused ownership to control and correct to root cause in a timely manner

Job Requirements

• Experienced qualified engineer

• A good knowledge of Machining and Electro Plating processes

• The ability to read and understand specifications and regulatory documentation. To use this information to its optimum effect whilst ensuring compliance

• The ability to read methods and sequences of operations

• Demonstrate effective organisation and planning skills with the ability to manage personal workload

• Have a keen sense of “First Time Right”

• Have good problem solving skills

• Excellent communication skills

• High attention to detail with strong quality awareness

• Good IT skills

• Good mathematical skills

• Team working ethics

• Self-managing and reliant

• Good problem solving skills

• Flexibility

• Must be willing to train and take on board new skills
