Job Description

• Develops and implements programs and policies for monitoring and preventing chemical, physical, and biological hazards at the facility and in our products.

• Develops and facilitates training for employees on issues related to health and safety.

• Develops and coordinates wellness initiatives driving a wellness culture and increasing involvement by all WWS employees. Implements and administers programs meant to encourage healthy lifestyles for employees or families.

• Facilities and capital planning

• Facilities operation

• Facilities maintenance, repair, installation and construction

• Supervision of staff, including but not limited to: performance evaluation of staff, corrective action, coaching and mentoring staff, and other management-related responsibilities

• Effectively supervises assigned personnel, ensuring optimal performance.

• Assumes responsibility for maintaining effective communication, coordination, and working relations with employees and management.

• Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.

• Assumes responsibility for the development and implementation of effective Facilities/Maintenance Department planning, policies, and procedures.

• Manage labor costs and expenses

• Surveys employees to gauge interest in programs, assesses usage of existing programs, and interacts with benefit providers or other external vendors to make programs available to the employee population. Leads WWS Wellness Squad.

• Supports health and welfare benefits administration activities as assigned.

• Ensures organizational compliance with all applicable safety and environmental regulations, including those specified by customer contract.

• Surveys, compiles, and analyzes data relating to occupational and environmental health issues such as chemical exposure, radiation, smoke, fumes, noise, temperatures, dusts, vapors, mists, gases, solvents, lighting, and ergonomics which are known or suspected of being real or potential detriments to health.

• Performs safety evaluations and hazardous waste evaluations.

• Develops or provides input to hazardous material communications, including maintaining safety data sheets. Implements or recommends control measures for exposure to hazardous materials or conditions.

• Coordinates Worker's Compensation claims, ensuring employees are engaged and in contact, carrier is efficiently managing claims, and negative impacts to the employee and company are minimized.

• Provides technical guidance to management and staff regarding health related problems and correct use of protective clothing or accessories.

• Monitors the company's health standards in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

• Maintains the program and system to track and evaluate worker injuries. Reports on a monthly basis internally and to corporate office on achievement of safety and environmental objectives.

• Maintains working knowledge of new developments in both the wellness and safety.

Complementary Description

Manages the operation and maintenance of the buildings, equipment, furnishings, grounds, and all regulatory agencies (related to facilities). The Facilities include structures and grounds, as well as, multiple utilities such as heating, air conditioning, power, water and electrical. The position's role is to provide for the proper and safe functioning of all of the facilities, as well as, to perform facility planning, capital budgeting, oversight of construction, remodeling and repair of the facilities. Promotes lean manufacturing and continuous improvement processes.

This position manages and coordinates HSE within a site to ensure all regulatory provisions and Safran Group reference systems are being applied. This position also manages the creation and implementation of the local HSE improvement plan, and advises and supports site management and operational staff to promote employee health, safety and environmental performance.

Job Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree from a college or technical school in a related area.

Experience: A minimum of 5 years of related experience, with at least 1 year of leadership responsibility.

Certificates/Licenses: Cal/OSHA 30-Hour Certification and Safety professional certification is strongly preferred.

Computer Skills:

• Familiar with Windows Operating System®

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Knowledge of Continuous Improvement principles.

Other Skills:

• Language Skills: Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

• Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

• Reasoning Ability - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Detailed oriented and accurate.

Additional Preferred skills (not required):

• Experience within an aerospace or aircraft manufacturing facility.

• A min of 3 years of leadership/management experience.
