Job Description

In the UK, Safran Seats specialises solely in the First Class and Business Class seating markets for wide body aircraft, with industrial and engineering teams in Cwmbran and Newport, Wales and Brackley, England.
The purpose of this role is:-
Responsible for the creation and updating of the multi Business Unit Target Purchasing Strategy (TPS).
Identify and implement cost saving opportunities within the Supply Chain to meet programme budgets.
Creation and management of supplier Long Term Agreements (LTA).
Technical specialist for the relevant Commodity.
Management and execution of cross functional high complexity (typically £10M+) transfers of work.
Key Responsibilities will include:
Leadership of a group of designated buyers across the purchasing function.
Acting as a coach to designated buyers within the - To issue and monitor RFP/Q's to strategic suppliers using available engineering data.
Review and selection of suppliers based on proposals/quotations received.
Setup supplier data within the business ERP system.
To develop partnerships and relationships with suppliers.
To manage large scale purchasing projects such as industrialisation of new products
that include but not limited to composite, metallic and electrical structures and
assemblies.

Job Requirements
Candidate skills:
MCIPS
Minimum of 4 years purchasing experience
Team Management / Leadership skills
Read and understand engineering drawings
Demonstrable experience in problem solving
techniques
Knowledge of Purchasing activity within a manufacturing environment
