Zodiac’s Manufacturing Engineering Planner is a diverse position covering the planning, scheduling, releasing, and tracking of workflow from the engineering department and through the manufacturing department. This position receives drawing packages and requisitions from the engineering personnel, adds planning data, enters the packages and requisitions from engineering personnel, adds planning data, enters the packages into the company MRP system, copies, assembles, distributes, and further prepares drawing packets for manufacture. This position will be the focal point in creating a production status of released components. This positions functions as a liaison between engineering, purchasing, Manufacturing and shipping/receiving departments. It is a focal point among all departments to effectively communicate and help meet program requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities (essential functions):
Works closely with assembly line, fabrication, tooling, engineering, quality assurance, proto shop, and other departments in manufacturing to solve parts problems and dispositioning of non-conforming material.
Coordinate with Program Engineers and production to sequence manufacturing, assembly, and installation.
Assist the manufacturing department to actively manage the production schedule.
Monitor quality, service, and delivery issues, and take corrective actions as needed.
Assists assembly line, engineering, tooling, proto, and fabrication in correcting poorly designed parts and solving other manufacturing problems and create work instructions for the production areas.
Reviews existing processes to evaluate new changes to improve quality, cost, and delivery.
Performs Manufacturing Planning duties as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements :
Knowledge and Skills:
Thorough knowledge of blueprints, production/Assembly processes, and assembly parts.
Good knowledge of sheet metal, plastics, and tooling.
Self-motivated, energetic, dependable, honest, and thorough.
A versatile, self-starter with a positive attitude, who is cautiously assertive.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
2 or more years of experience in production.
