Job Description

What will I be doing?

You will work in a project leader role within an industrial engineering team and report to the Manufacturing Engineering manager.

You will be responsible and accountable for various size industrial projects at Safran Landing Systems: these projects will primarily be local, focusing on the manufacture of aerospace detail components, however interaction may be required globally with other manufacturing sites.

Focus will be to lead industrialisations in case of change in design, new product introduction, or industrial transfers.

Working both on your own, and with cross-functional teams in Gloucester or across the business, you will manage the whole project and will deliver on time, on scope and on budget.

You will be reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering manager but will be expected to give status updates and reports to teams and managers across the business.

Comfortable in a production environment, you will be given good autonomy as well as the chance to improve the project management toolset used on site and thanks to your project culture; you will come as a strong asset for the company.

Job Requirements

What do you need from me?

• Good technical understanding of manufacturing processes: machining, assembly, special processes

• Excellent people skills to engage the team in project activities.

• Capacity to identify blocking points with a hands-on approach to problem solving. Highly motivated & determined in taking initiative to drive through a resolution.

• Energetic, self-motivated and organized.

• To take on full ownership for all project activities.

• Excellent knowledge of project management processes (APM, PMI, Prince2, etc.)

• Competent in project management through planning, execution and reporting.

• Risk management; analyzing and mitigation.

• Experienced in working to regulatory aerospace requirements and company procedures.

• Ownership and accountability of all project deliverables from project kick-off through to delivery and verification. Via the Safran industrialisation procedure.

• Previous experience working in an aerospace manufacturing environment.

• Able to lead without formal authority as the role involves working with a cross-functional team across the business

• Able to deliver content and manage stakeholders at all levels of the business, from shop floor to vice presidents.

• Positive attitude towards development and learning new skills

• Experience with APQP methodology including tools such as PFMEA, MSA, SPC, PPAP, and control plans

• Lean experience (Green Belt / Black belt) preferable

• Second language (French) appreciated although not essential
