The Supplier Quality Representative (SQ) is responsible for all supplier quality-related activities within a Zodiac Cabin Branch Business Unit (BU). The primary responsibilities are to monitor, analyze, and investigate supplier non-conforming issues, and identify corrective actions to ensure the quality of all supplier deliverables. The SQ is responsible for BU supplier base compliance with the BU Quality System, the Zodiac Quality requirements, and applicable regulatory requirements. The SQ will be a key contributor to assist internal/external audit related to suppliers. SQ may visit suppliers as required in order to (i) assess supplier’s ability to deliver quality products, and (ii) in case of non-performance, identify actions to improve supplier’s quality operating system. This position reports directly to the Supplier Performance Manager.

Summary of duties:

  • Lead efforts to resolve supplier quality issues and regularly collaborate with the BU Supplier Development Specialist (SD) and the Branch Commodity Managers (CM) to secure good performance by the supplier base.

  • Review and analyze supplier non-conformance reports, perform internal investigation and participate in material review board.

  • Work directly with a supplier to investigate root cause and identify/ follow up corrective actions.

  • Perform supplier audits to evaluate supplier compliance to Zodiac requirements (ZA-Q-1030), and audits required for supplier approval/re-approval process. Follow up on corrective actions resulting from audit findings.

  • Work with the SD to implement quality related action plans to enable suppliers to achieve an acceptable performance level.

  • Provide assistance to suppliers on new products, process capability improvements, quality systems development.

  • Facilitate problem solving activities that focus on continuous improvement and supplier problem prevention.

  • Identify areas for supplier process improvement in collaboration with CM and SD.

  • Review supplier delivery documentation to assess the areas of improvement and correction.

  • Interface within the BU to identify process and product improvement opportunities to secure permanent solutions.

  • Be a referent expertise for receiving inspection, third party source inspectors, buyers/planners, program quality engineers on all supplier quality related activities.

  • Act as a point of escalation within the BU for supplier quality related issues.

  • Act as a key focal to ensure the BU Quality System is in full compliance with the ISO, AS and other key regulatory standards related to suppliers.

  • Assist suppliers on product qualification and first article inspection activities

  • Assist suppliers on quality tools and techniques

  • Assure that any and all Supplier Quality related activities are conducted in compliance with the Zodiac Standards.

Qualifications :

  • Education: BS degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (preferred) or equivalent education or experience.

  • Experience: 5 years of progressive quality experience in aerospace, automotive or mechanical manufacturing environment with the ability to lead and influence others. AS/ISO standards. Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) is required.

  • Ability to read and understand drawings, technical specifications, technical reports, etc…

  • Ability to write technical documents, audit reports, non-conformance dispositions

  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office

  • Other Skills: Must be very organized, detailed oriented, systematic and accurate. Strong problem solving skills. Knowledge of Lean and six sigma tools is desired.

  • Fluent communication in English and French is mandatory.
