We're looking for a Systems Engineer to join our growing team in Rochester, NY

The Position:
As a Systems Engineer in the Product Development team, you will play a key role in the shaping of our new product feature developments. Working with Product Management, Applications Engineering, and the Product Development teams you will use your knowledge of embedded system architecture and state-of-the-art technologies to take high level requirements and customer use cases to define system architectures, functional requirements, and implementation strategies. The ideal candidate for this role is someone who can see “the big picture” and then is easily able to understand how a capability transcends between domains to guide the development team on implementation details. Our products and technologies power critical applications with lives and businesses depending on our systems.
The Day to Day:
Using your system knowledge, define and capture the requirements, architecture, and implementation strategy for our product features
Collaborate with Product Management, Applications Engineering, and Development Engineers on defining solutions meeting product requirements and customer use cases
Designing architectures and developing proof-of-concept implementations to meet the current and future needs of our customers
Mentoring and guiding other engineers on architectural implementations and design best-practices
Provide consultancy, analysis, and technical expertise to customer requirements.
Work with the Product Testing team on the definition of test methods and strategies for both new and existing capabilities

Job Requirements
What you Bring to Safran:
Experience with embedded system architecture design
Comfort with taking customer use cases for design definition
Experience developing embedded software for critical systems
Strong technical knowledge of embedded system design
Familiarity with embedded Linux and FPGAs
Ability to work with an international team using Agile methods
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent
Minimum 5 years of experience with relevant electronic products
The exceptional candidate will have some of these additional qualifications:
Experience in data center environments and advanced network technologies
Background in signal processing and/or control systems
Experience with timing systems and oscillators
