Safran - IDD Aersopace, a leading manufacturer of lighting products for the aerospace industry is seeking a highly motivated individual for our Team.

IDD Aerospace, a Business Unit within Safran, is a leading global aerospace leader, engaged in the design, development, and manufacture of flight deck products. The company provides lighted panels, control panel assemblies, keyboards, and integrated switch panels that are used in commercial, military, and business jet aircraft worldwide. The company operates production facilities in Redmond, Washington; and Chihuahua, Mexico.

Title: Director of Operations

POSITION SUMMARY

Has overall responsibility for all aspects of operations for two sites (Redmond, WA and Chihuahua, Mexico) including product teams, stores, shipping, receiving, purchasing, planning, and manufacturing engineering, environmental and facilities management.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Has responsibility for all aspects of operations including product teams, stores, shipping, receiving, purchasing, planning, and manufacturing engineering.

  • Has specific responsibility for on-time delivery of all products.

  • Has specific responsibility for cost control of all products.

  • Has responsibility of supply chain management with support from quality.

  • Responsibility for implementation of Operational Excellence throughout the company.

  • Responsibility for implementation of all standards of Zodiac Aerospace Operating System (ZAOS) related to Operations

  • Responsible for meeting all committed to operations, budgets and schedules.

  • Must be absolutely dedicated to the ZLS vision and mission.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Member of the corporate executive committee.

  • Interface with customers, suppliers and the Board of Directors as appropriate.

  • Travel as required to include trips to Mexico and France.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

ยท Ten years of experience in operations management, preferable in aerospace.

  • B.S. degree in engineering

  • Five years experience in and thorough understanding of Lean manufacturing.

  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization

  • Must be very goal oriented

  • Must possess the highest standards of ethics, morality and trustworthiness.

  • Office environment

  • Hands-on in production areas as required.

ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Responsible for preparing operations department budgets and input to the business plan.

DEGREE OF SUPERVISION

  • Reports to CEO.
