Safran Quality/FAI Technician in REDMOND (RED), United States

Zodiac Lighting Solutions, a leading manufacturer of lighting products for the aerospace industry is seeking a highly motivated individual for our Team.


  • Programming of Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)

  • Programming of Instant Measuring Machine (IM)

  • Perform complex and highly detailed dimensional and physical determinations of compliancy for aerospace parts and assemblies

  • Determining dimensional and other characteristic for aerospace parts requirements by reading and interpreting drawings, customer contractual requirements, and engineering requirements


  • Initiating non-conformity reports and dimensional measurement reports as required

  • Determining conformity of all characteristics for received parts and assemblies from suppliers, by using drawings, customer contractual requirements, and engineering requirements

  • Determining conformity of all characteristics for newly produced parts and assemblies by using drawings, customer contractual requirements, and engineering requirements

  • Running, programming, and reporting results from Coordinate Measurement Machines and Instant Measure Machines.

  • Preforming First Article Inspections per AS-9102 using Net-Inspect

  • Other duties as assigned


  • High School Diploma or equivalent education (college level courses in relevant skills preferred)

  • One (1) year experience performing First Article Inspections.

  • One (1) year experience with GD&T per ASME Y14.5-2009

  • One (1) year experience using various measuring equipment, including but not limited to, Coordinate Measuring Machines, Instant Measuring Machines, Calipers, Micrometers, and other dimensional and characteristic measuring devices.

  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office programs – Excel, Work, Access, PowerPoint.

  • Must be able to prioritize tasks.

  • Experience in an AS-9100, ISO-9000 or similar quality management environment. Aerospace experience preferred..


  • Must be self-motivated and able to independently determine best course of action for a variety of situations.

  • Focused with a high degree of attention to detail.

  • Maintaining a positive focus and earnest approach in meeting responsibilities and goals.

  • Effectively handle conflicting/changing priorities to avoid delays.

  • Must be able to work full time, available for Day and/or Swing Shift.

  • Familiar with, MIL, ASME and other Industrial Specifications.


Works in a lab environment and on the manufacturing floor.


Bending, sitting, standing, and ability to lift up to 40lbs required


Requires keeping Quality Leadership informed and apprised of current status and issues on a regular basis.

High degree of confidentiality required due to access to proprietary information.

Will periodically work directly with the quality management.


Works with teams and interfaces with all levels and all departments under minimal supervision
