Job Description

Location: Twinsburg

Within the Industrialization team of the Power Division, the Electronic Industrialization Engineer is responsible for the industrialization and the deployment of the production of the electronic products (Printed Circuit Boards, Power Electronics, Generator Control Units, Transformer Rectifier Units, etc.) from preliminary design to entry into production. These responsibilities are assumed with the highest standards of safety, quality, and output, within budget and schedule.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•Manage the industrialization by following the industry and SAFRAN standards, within budget and schedule.

•Develop and manage the production and tests means, including automated equipment.

•Actively participate in the design from early phases to ensure that industrialization constraints are taken into account from the preliminary design until entry into production.

•Participate in the definition of the industrial plan including the industrialization for subcontracted items.

•Construct and or participate in project risks, PPAP, PFMEA, FAI.

•Ensure industrial validation of processes (internal or with suppliers).

•Participate in product cost evaluations from the Bids and Proposal phase to the implementation.

•Participate in the prototype phases to validate the industrialization choices.

•Provide updates of the industrialization to the management and project team as necessary.

•Participate in the overall continuous improvement of our industrialization including investigation and troubleshooting.

•Assist Supplier Quality on audits to confirm work instructions conform to drawing requirements.

•Adhere to safe work practices and contributes to the evolution of the health, safety, and environmental program and culture

•Utilize Lean Manufacturing/One Safran principles and tools to set up efficient production process flows

•Frequent travel: (general guideline: once a month) within the U.S./Outside the U.S.

•Evening/night hours may be required.

•Weekend hours may be required.

•This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Work Environment:

Typical office environment requiring the use of typical office equipment (i.e. computers, phones, etc.) Computer keyboarding, computer monitor and mouse use including reaching forward, grasping, finger and wrist manipulation and neck bending and turning; near vision is necessary for computer monitor use.

Physical Demands:

•May require long periods of sitting.

•Ability to lift at least 40 pounds

•May require prolonged repetitive use of upper extremities.

Job Requirements

Education and/or Experience:

•BSME or Manufacturing / Industrialization or Engineering degree with experience in Aerospace manufacturing, or relevant practical experience, and

•A minimum of 4 years of design or manufacturing experience with electronics, or in related areas.

Candidate skills & requirements:

•Knowledge of special processes involved in the production of electronic components (soldering, brazing, etching, masking, etc.).

•Knowledge at analyzing electronics and wound assembly manufacturing processes such as PCB testing, soldering, ESS, copper forming, brazing, impregnation.

•Capability in developing and deploying production and tests means, including automated equipment.

•Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical procedures, purchase specifications, applicable FAA regulations, Aerospace industry standards and contractual terms and conditions.

•Knowledge in Product development and launch system - i.e. APQP, PPAP, etc - and has basic knowledge of the associated tools such as PFMEA, Control Plans, Characteristic Matrix, Gage Capability, Process Capability, Process Flow.

•Knowledge in Preventive Maintenance, Machine Runoff, Risk analysis, Causal analysis, 8D, SPC etc.

•Capability in validating production process plans.

•Interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate verbally and in writing at all levels internally and externally, representing Safran to the suppliers.

•High level of self-motivation and job planning, enthusiastic, able to work independently and meet deadlines

Preferred Skills :

•Familiarity with aerospace industry

•Familiaruity with FAA Parts 21 and 145
